26 Weeks of FHE – Week 14

The Power of DeliveranceElder L Tom Perry

Opening Hymn:

Book of Mormon StoriesChildren’s Hymn Book # 118

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Attention Getter:

Watch this video about how we got the Book of Mormon at LDS.org.

Then serve the peanut butter cup cookies. Explain that the cookies are like the scriptures. We need both the Bible (the cookie) and the Book of Mormon (the peanut butter cup) in our lives. Explain that both books testify of Jesus Christ just like both the chocolate and the cookie taste good together.

The Meat:

Play a game of Book of Mormon Trivia. Ask these awesome questions gathered by the wonderful ladies at sugardoodle.net and whoever answers first or finds the answer first wins the point. Remember, this is an open book test :)

Closing Song:

As I search the Holy Scriptures – Hymn # 277

If you feel comfortable, I would encourage parents and even couples to bear testimony of the Book of Mormon. If you are not yet sure of its truthfullness I would encourage you to study and ask Heavenly Father, in the mean time bear testimony where you can – tell of a time when the Book of Mormon blessed your life or brought you peace.

I can tell you that I know the Book of Mormon is true and that it can bring us peace and show us the way to deliverance.

Disclaimer: I’m not an official representative of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Everything here is my opinion. I’m just a normal Mormon mommy hoping what I post can help myself and others as we seek to reach our potential :)

FYI – While researching for this FHE I found a Book of Mormon Jeopardy site. I didn’t include it because it’s only a one person game – but for a couple without kids it might be fun to play together in lieu of the trivia game
